It has been one of those incredibly insane mornings.
This girl slept through her very loud first alarm (she has three). The Boy has no clue how she did that given he had to reach over her to turn it off. They put it down to her sheer exhaustion from her equally insanely long day before which included her waking at four in the morning to help The Father with his grad school homework. Yes, she knows she could have done it earlier, but there was simply no time to squeeze it into her packed day. Oh, and she had a mild bout of food poisoning from eating fried frog legs. They were tasty, obviously, since she cleaned out two frogs on her own, but gave her loads of problems after.
Then she had to head to The Town House to see about things. Her very sick- but very good- contractor is down with a severe case of the flu, so she went to, em, stand in the gap. But also because many other house-fixer parts people were coming, including the movers with her many cartons, the floor people, the wall people, the paint people, the door people, the kitchen people, the condo management… It was all very chaotic and she left them after bossing pretty much everyone around.
There’s still a huge consult paper to write, and she’s ran out of files and replacements supposed to have arrived. They have not. The very stressed-by-proxy Miss Pedantic is running around most days like a headless chicken trying to help this girl sort her life out. She’s doing a great job, really. They are both supposed to be going over material for a training session later in the day, but it looks like that’s only going to happen in the car en route. As usual.
Her new, and very huge car is jammed with stuff in its boot. Testament to copious amounts of rubbish this girl lugs around on a daily basis. But, to be fair, its got her golf set in it and Mr. Toe Socks’ luggage (he left them with her and will pick them up on Saturday- Yay!) Oh, and half of her shoe collection.
Oh, and The Uncles on both The Father’s and The Mother’s side of the family are in the hospital- the former with a quad by-pass, the latter with a colon op of sorts. The truth is, she’s not so worried about them as she is for her cousins: Hazy Day (with little Daylet) and Realtor Boy. They have enough on their plates as is.
And of course, The Father is severely sick, The Mother is busy (thankfully their renovation woes are at an end), The Princess is running herself ragged with her new job and The Prefect has school streaming matters to deal with. Oh, and Bimbo the dog is very skinny; in fact, all the dogs are very thin now from stress from the renovations that had taken some three months.
And amidst all this insanity, this girl’s daily read reminds her:
A Blessing for Courage
May God give you the confidence of Daniel to face any crisis. May you have the assurance of Moses and Abraham that God is on your side. May you be willing to let God work things out according to his plan and in his time. Never interpret God’s silence as God’s absence
