When this girl was living with The Parents, she had the room in the attic which meant that- for all intents and purposes- she was neatly tucked away in her own little corner of the sky. She had a little haven that was untouched and unsullied by the hustle and bustle that defined the household.
When she decided that she might want to go head off to graduate school, she always knew that it was the beginning of her having her own space. If she went away, she would finally get to live by herself and upon return continue doing so. And if she stayed, she woudl buy her own place and move out.
Don’t get her wrong, The parents and The sisters were-and are, great. It just that this girl has always been one of those that desperately needed her own space.
For that, she is grateful that even though she now shares a not-so-big apartment with The Boy he somehow manages to still give her her much needed alone-space. For one, his alone space is the kitchen which he closes off with a glass door: it limits the smell from permeating and it acts as a private shield he hides behind to get away. For this girl, they have unofficially designated the unused masterroom bathroom as her little haven. She sits in the empty tub to read for hours and hours.
Or she drowns herself in housework.
Love this blog I’ll be back when I have more time.
