This girl has had quite a full past few weeks. Deadlines, projects and other developments on the work front has kept her on her toes and on the go with little reprieve. She’s all systems go from the time she gets up till the time she gets home; blowing off The Boy who troops off to solo golf while she hammers away at the computer. A day with three items on the agenda is a good day- a busy-ish day, but an okay day. Those days are rare.
Still, she’s grateful for the team that slogs it out with her, many of them working independently and excellently without her direct supervision. They give her a wide berth, cut her loads of slack and pick up the many little pieces she invariably leaves behind. They manage her schedule, do pre-meeting preps and when there’re little snacks to go around are always thoughtful to leave her (at least) the last piece.
After much discussion with The Boy and the main players on the work front, This girl is officially cutting back. She’s streamlining at work, clearing her to-do lists, learning to get things done and to stop learning manage time and learning to manage actions. There’s going to be much pruning and outsourcing to be done; some regrouping and much revisioning. Also, a re-evaluation of her team, her partners and the direction.
So, there. Let’s do it already!
